Abah Sahid, an 88-year-old man, lives alone and sells traditional cireng snacks to survive. With the rising price of rice and cireng becoming less popular among kids, it’s hard for Abah to make enough money to buy basic needs.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Every day, Abah walks 10 kilometers carrying his 30-kilogram snack load. It’s not easy for someone his age, especially with his weak physical condition. From morning to evening, Abah sells his snacks, and at night, he makes the dough for the next day.
If Abah sells out, he earns about 50,000 rupiah. Most of this money goes toward buying ingredients for more cireng, leaving little for himself. Often, he can only afford rice with salt, and his home is barely livable—a small space that shelters him from the rain.
During the rainy season, Abah’s struggles get even harder, as sales drop and he often returns home empty-handed.
Abah’s only wish is to live a decent life in his old age. Will you help bring a smile to Abah Sahid and other elders like him today?
