Akong Djap Kim Tung, a 76-year-old man, has lost his hand in a tragic accident and is now struggling to survive.  A terrible accident at work cost him his hand, leaving him to survive on just one.

Akong now works as a vegetable carrier at the market, selling his goods door-to-door for a meager income. If he doesn’t work, he won’t have enough money for food or a place to stay. 

He lives in a small, cramped room that he can barely afford. Often, he only eats rice or goes without food entirely in order to save money for rent.

Despite his hardships, Akong never forgets to pray. It’s his only solace, a place where he can cry and release the loneliness that weighs heavily on his heart. Akong just hopes for a better life.
