Imagine the heartbreak of seeing your baby vomit worms. That’s the reality for Hotma and Juanta. Their little girl, Virgin, is fighting for her life against 6 serious illnesses. 

Virgin’s arrival completed their family. But no one expected her cheerful moments to be taken away by a cruel fate that almost cost her life. To their shock, Virgin started vomiting and had diarrhea that expelled worms. It did not happen just once but several times, even after they rushed her to the ER.

The worms that came out during vomiting and bowel movements were Ascaris Lumbricoides parasites. These worms grew in her body and attacked her intestines.

Her stomach and intestines became severely inflamed. Virgin lost a lot of fluids, and her blood volume dropped. It got worse when sepsis caused her organs to stop working properly.

Virgin also developed an infection in her respiratory tract and lungs. She was also diagnosed with severe malnutrition. Virgin is in critical condition, struggling to breathe, and needs intensive care in the PICU.

Virgin has no insurance. Her father’s earnings as a vegetable loader are not enough to pay for rent and daily meals, let alone cover the hospital bills.
