Fundraiser
Nurjayadih is Devin's Father

For two days straight, Nurjayadih hasn’t gone home, catching short naps by the roadside between his search for passengers. His heart feels heavy, nearly succumbing to despair as his only effort to save his son’s life brings no results. Devin, 5 years old, must not stop his treatments—his life hangs in the balance against the rare and fatal threat of leukemia.

Devin brought light and joy to his parents’ lives, completing their little family. At just 5 years old, his laughter brightened their days, and his innocent demeanor touched their hearts. Devin often accompanied his older sibling to Quran classes, dressed in his baju koko and peci, a wide smile on his face. But now, instead of cheerful lessons, Devin spends his days in a hospital ward, fighting for his life against a cruel and daunting diagnosis.

It all began with a persistent cough, high fever, and a swollen, hardened stomach. When Devin was referred to the hospital for blood tests, his parents’ worst fears began to materialize. Four days of hospitalization revealed drastically low red and white blood cell counts and platelets. He required two bags of blood transfusions immediately.

Day by day, his condition worsened. The sudden drop in blood cells pointed to a rare blood disorder. Doctors conducted further tests, suspecting leukemia, and recommended a bone marrow biopsy. Without prompt treatment, the drastic decline in his blood cell levels could be life-threatening.

Faith and patience have become Nurjayadih’s greatest strengths amidst unrelenting trials. With barely enough money for daily needs, the looming costs of Devin’s treatment—amounting to tens of millions of rupiah—feel insurmountable.

Yet, as a father, the thought of losing his child is the deepest heartbreak. Every moment counts as Devin’s life remains at risk from leukemia.

#KindSouls, Devin’s future still holds so much potential. Together, let’s support his fight for a chance at life.
