Grandpa Rahmad, a 68-year-old man, is facing a life of struggle. After losing a leg due to diabetes, he now crawls to the harbor every day to sell trumpets. His determination to survive, despite his disability, is truly inspiring.

“This is the only job I can do. Many times, people at the port avoid me, or they even think I’m a nuisance, but that doesn’t make me sad,” Rahmad shared.
“The reason I keep going is so I can bring home SGD 3 or SGD 5 a day from my hard work. If there’s no food, I’ll just buy a bottle of water, and that’s enough,” Rahmad explained.
For Rahmad, every step he takes is a fight for survival. He continues to support himself without depending on others. His independence is his pride, something he refuses to give up.
Looking ahead, Rahmad dreams of having a stable and comfortable spot to sell his trumpets and other goods without being scolded or asked to leave. A small kiosk would allow him to run his business without constantly struggling to move around.
