Every day, 76-year-old Akong Paijan walks around the city, carrying household items for sale. He travels approximately 20 kilometers on foot to support his family.

Things get even harder when fatigue sets in. Akong frequently falls asleep on shop porches, exhausted after a whole day of walking with no sales. His goods are often rejected, sometimes even before he gets the chance to offer them. Still, Akong doesn’t give up because he knows his family depends on his hard work.
When he returns home, Akong is met with the heartbreaking sight of his child, who has suffered from a mental disorder for 30 years. Sometimes, his child waits for him to come home and asks for food.
But when Akong’s sales don’t go well, the family has to survive on hardened rice. His child’s tendency to talk to himself scares people away, with some cruelly calling him “crazy.”
Despite his old age, Akong continues to fight for his family. He lives in a modest home with his wife and child, enduring unending hardships.
