Yunita Pindi Hammu, just 12 years old, has endured immense suffering. Diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of blood cancer, Chronic Myeloid Leukemia, she had to drop out of school at a young age.

The swelling in her abdomen has led to cruel bullying, making her feel isolated and alone. Only a miracle and substantial medical funds can save her life and future.

Imagine a 12-year-old girl watching her friends play while she’s confined to a hospital bed, her swollen belly making her a target for bullies who call her pregnant. Yunita’s heart aches as she watches them from afar, praying for a chance to experience a normal childhood.

Yunita’s journey has been filled with countless challenges. She dropped out of school not because she didn’t want to learn, but because her health rapidly deteriorated.

She experienced frequent vomiting, high fevers, and nosebleeds. After a long and difficult journey to a provincial hospital, she was referred to a specialist, but financial constraints prevented her from receiving proper treatment.

For three years, Yunita relied on traditional medicine, but her condition only worsened. She underwent multiple blood transfusions, and a CT scan revealed an enlarged spleen, which caused her abdomen to swell. She was eventually referred to a cancer hospital in Jakarta for further evaluation.

Upon arrival in Jakarta, Yunita’s blood tests revealed alarmingly low hemoglobin levels, a low platelet count, and a high white blood cell count.

A bone marrow biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of Chronic Myeloid Leukemia. To survive, Yunita will need oral chemotherapy for the rest of her life.

Yunita’s family, who live in a remote village, are devastated by the news. Their limited resources make it impossible to afford the costly treatment. Yunita now relies on the kindness of strangers and the support of a local shelter.

#KindHeartedPeople, let’s be a beacon of hope for Yunita. Your generosity can help give her a second chance at life.
