At just 6 years old, Jahira’s life has already been filled with hardship. She lost her father in a tragic car accident when she was only 4 years old, and her mother passed away when she was just 2, leaving her with no one but her 60-year-old grandmother, Wirdiana. They live in a small, rundown house that struggles to keep them safe from the harsh realities of life.

Jahira’s world is full of challenges, but she faces them with remarkable strength. After school, she spends her afternoons selling chips, hoping to make just enough money to survive. With each sale, she earns only 5,000 IDR (SGD 1.30), a small amount that doesn’t even cover the basics. But it’s the only way she knows how to help her grandmother, who suffers from frequent health issues and can no longer work as much.

Jahira dreams of having enough to eat, of staying in school, and maybe—just maybe—of visiting her parents’ graves, something that she longs for but cannot afford. Despite all the obstacles she faces, Jahira remains determined to carry on, supporting her grandmother and hoping for a better life. But her future feels uncertain, and the weight of survival falls on her tiny shoulders.
