Around 7 AM, Grandma Enih starts her day, walking around to sell yellow rice and snacks. She carries two boxes while struggling to walk due to her hunched back. When she reaches the roadside, she sets up her small stall, hoping someone will buy her food for breakfast.

Selling food is Grandma Enih’s only source of income, as she lives alone with no family to support her. But most days, her food doesn’t sell out, leaving her with little to no profit. If she sums up her earnings for the entire week, sometimes it’s not even enough to buy a bag of rice.
“I feel ashamed having to borrow money from the shop just to buy rice. But if I don’t, I won’t have anything to eat or sell the next day,” she says with teary eyes.
In her old age, she dreams of having her own small stall, so she won’t have to walk around selling food anymore. Her body is not as strong as it used to be, and her hunched back often gives her unbearable pain. Yet, she has never been able to afford medical treatment.
