We Believe! There is a miracle for Ben to recover from his sickness

My name is Anton, Benoit’s father. We’re from Indonesia. My second son, Benoit (14 years old), or we usually call him Ben, is a Leukemia ALL patient who had one relapse.

The hardest part of his fight was that he had to agree to have his left leg amputated, and now his cheeks are hollow because of a bacterial infection.

Around 2-3 years ago, Ben got a cough and fever for days and never got better. We decided to do a lab check, and the result was that Ben had Leukemia.

Our life came to a halt. I never imagined my son would be diagnosed with it.

Our hometown is Bangka, but there is no medication for Leukemia because Bangka is only a small city, so we have to travel to Jakarta to bring Ben for chemotherapy.

Ben got chemo for 2 years, but during the last protocol, Benoit experienced a relapse.

This cancer was so cruel. It not only crushed Ben’s life but also ruined his face and his left leg. Lastly, the doctor said the cancer has already spread to the spinal cord.

Because for 2 years, undergoing chemotherapy, but the medicine consumed during this time did not respond well.

The doctors in Jakarta have given up, so we have to take him for treatment to Singapore, precisely at the National University Hospital in Singapore.

To recover, Ben needs to undergo Car T-Cell treatment, which requires approximately SGD 175,000. This amount does not include the living costs and accommodation for us during our stay there.

To be honest, I no longer have any money to treat Ben in Singapore. My savings have run out. Previously, I was just a fisherman in Bangka.

My income was only SGD 260 – SGD 440 per month. However, since Ben got sick, I have sold my fishing boat, and I have also sold my car and other belongings.

I don’t know where else to find money to bring Ben for treatment, but I also don’t want to give up because I see that Ben still has the spirit to recover. We believe there is still a miracle for him to live normally like children at his age.
