All around us, there are elderly warriors still struggling to meet their basic needs—just to have a meal for the day.

Mbah Sa’imon (85) walks for miles every day, selling vegetables to provide for his paralyzed wife. His frail legs often give out, causing him to fall, but he never gives up—he has no choice but to keep going.

Mbah Partiya (80) has been bedridden since 2017 after suffering a severe head injury while getting up for prayer. He can no longer walk and sometimes cries out in pain for no reason. He needs special milk to survive, but if he doesn’t have it, he screams in agony.

Mbah Asmin (78) risks his life every day, selling firewood on the roadside. He has been hit by vehicles multiple times, yet he refuses to beg or burden others. Unfortunately, fewer people buy his firewood as they switch to gas, leaving him struggling to make ends meet.

Mbah Tima (76) has sold boiled peanuts for over a decade, ever since her husband passed away. She pulls a heavy sack for 7 km daily, despite her frail body and a bent leg caused by an untreated accident. Some days, there are no customers, and she falls asleep on the ground from exhaustion.

Mbah Hadir (57) spends his days breaking stones with his bare hands to earn a living. His fingers are incomplete, and his body trembles with every strike. Often, his only meal is leftover rice from the day before, eaten without any side dishes.
