Still in his school uniform, Arif 孔 kneels in silence. Among the rising incense smoke, a single wish lingers in his heart—he dreams of a miracle, a chance to heal…
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! From the moment he was born, Arif’s life has been filled with hardship. He was born without an anus, unable to pass stool. To prevent a life-threatening infection, doctors had to create an opening in his stomach when he was just three weeks old.
His colostomy bag needs to be changed at least five times a day. He was supposed to undergo surgery to create an anus at nine months old, but his health was too unstable. Then, at just two years old, another tragedy struck—his mother passed away due to complications from diabetes. Left motherless, Arif had to endure his pain without a mother’s embrace.
It wasn’t until he turned six that he could finally undergo surgery. But even after the procedure, his stool still exited through his stomach. As if that wasn’t enough, he also developed a urinary tract abnormality, causing urine to leak from multiple places—his genitals, his rectum, and even his stomach.
For 11 years, Arif has lived with this condition, relying on his colostomy bag while his father, who fell critically ill and was once in a coma, struggles to afford another surgery. On top of his physical pain, he faces constant bullying from classmates for carrying a plastic bag attached to his stomach. The emotional toll is heavy, and many days he has to leave school early because he can’t bear the pain.
Now, complications threaten to damage his internal organs, putting his life at serious risk. He needs multiple surgeries to close the colostomy opening, but the total cost—including treatment and post-surgical care—reaches hundreds of thousands. And without health insurance, his family is helpless.
With their father ill, Arif’s older sibling had to drop out of school and now sells salted fish to support the family. But even their daily needs are a struggle. They can’t even afford proper colostomy bags—Arif has been using regular plastic bags instead.
#KindHearts, your support can help Arif get the life-changing surgery he desperately needs.
