For the first month of her life, Nida couldn’t even be held by her parents. She had to stay in an incubator, battling a dangerous brain swelling caused by fluid buildup, making her head grow abnormally large.

To prevent further damage, doctors had no choice but to drill into her skull and insert a tube to drain the excess fluid. But even after surgery, her head size hasn’t returned to normal, and her condition remains unstable. Nida frequently suffers from high fevers and has even lost consciousness multiple times.

Her parents, small-scale farmers, have exhausted everything they had for her treatment. “Our savings are gone. We even sold my wife’s wedding jewelry—the only valuable thing we owned. Now, we have nothing left to pay for Nida’s hospital care,” says her father, Pak Uman.

Desperate and with barely any money left, he often takes public transport for miles just to get Nida to the hospital, trying to save every bit of money for her treatment.

Nida still needs multiple surgeries to manage the fluid in her brain and prevent further swelling. Your help can give her a fighting chance!
