Born into a humble family, Yohanes Wehantow grew up to be a responsible young man who fears God. He never misses a chance to glorify the name of Jesus, always present among the church congregation, serving with all his heart. His dream is simple yet noble—to graduate soon and take over his father’s role as the family provider. Ever since his mother passed away and returned to the Heavenly Father, his dad has been working tirelessly, raising the children alone. Yohanes can’t bear to watch his father struggle alone.

Tragically, just as he was getting closer to a brighter future, everything came to a sudden halt. Yohanes had long complained of sharp pain in his upper abdomen. It got worse—he often vomited violently, his body turned yellow, and he began drifting in and out of consciousness.

Even with backbreaking work as a construction laborer, his wages aren’t nearly enough—especially since they have no health insurance and still have to pay for daily living and two other kids’ education.
