“Why are you still forcing yourself to sell, even though you’re this sick?”

“My dad just got fired, and my mom only works as a part-time housemaid. Sometimes we don’t even have enough for food. Meanwhile, I need regular dialysis because both of my kidneys have failed. I don’t want my parents to fall into debt just for my treatment,” Wahyuda said softly.

For the past two years, Wahyuda has been fighting to survive with both kidneys severely damaged. He must undergo dialysis twice a week for the rest of his life.

Sadly, that’s not his only struggle — Wahyuda also suffers from a lung disorder, forcing him to rely on an oxygen tank to breathe!

Every day, just being able to see his parents and take a breath feels like a miracle to Wahyuda. Amazingly, even with his frail body battling two serious illnesses, he still pushes himself to earn money for his treatment.

Wahyuda’s father was recently laid off and now works as a daily laborer at a car wash, while his mother works as a domestic helper. Their combined income is not enough to cover daily needs, his two younger siblings’ education, and Wahyuda’s medical expenses.

He sells snacks door-to-door every day while carrying his oxygen tank. He has nearly collapsed more than once from shortness of breath and exhaustion while walking long distances under the scorching sun.
