Sakariono is Ayla's father

“Since she was in the womb, fluid had already been detected in Ayla’s head. After birth, her head started swelling 1 cm each day. God, my heart breaks seeing our baby endure such unbearable pain. My husband and I are doing everything we can so Ayla can get treatment and heal…”

Mr. Saka and Mrs. Liany were overjoyed, having long hoped for a baby girl. But tragedy struck—they nearly lost her. During pregnancy, doctors discovered an abnormal buildup of fluid in Ayla’s head. The delivery had to be rushed to save both mother and child’s lives.

Ayla was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus at just 34 weeks in the womb. Born with a head circumference of 49 cm—far above average—her head grew another 1 cm just hours after birth. The extreme fluid buildup was endangering her life, especially with her organs still fragile and underdeveloped.

Mr. Saka had to make a heartbreaking decision: Ayla needed to be transferred to a central hospital two hours away, without her mother who was still recovering from a C-section. Cradled only in her father’s arms, Ayla began her fight for life in a strange city.

Instead of feeling her mother’s warm embrace, Ayla is surrounded by tubes and machines, her life dependent on nonstop medical support. Intensive care alone isn’t enough—Ayla had to undergo surgery just days after being born. Worse, the fluid extracted was murky yellow and reddish—raising alarm for potential infections. Her head shape keeps changing, with four skull points still soft and unformed.

Now severely underweight and malnourished, Ayla requires special formula milk. But the costs are overwhelming. Mr. Saka, a daily laborer who works irregular jobs in farms and construction, cannot afford the thousands of dollars in medical expenses not covered by insurance. In despair, he and his wife continue to pray for a miracle to heal their baby girl…

#KindSouls, your help and prayers could save Ayla’s life. Let’s come together to bring hope and healing to this little fighter.
