His weary shoulders are silent witnesses to the struggle of Grandpa Jabar (60 years old) in his twilight years.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! For Grandpa Jabar, even $1 means a lot—it could buy enough rice for him and his wife to eat at home.
He walked 15 kilometers all day, but not a single bunch of bananas was sold. His stomach ached from hunger—he hadn’t eaten in two days.
From morning until nearly sunset, Grandpa only managed to sell one bunch of bananas, earning just 20 cents. Not enough to buy rice. So, he walked home, stopping by small stalls along the way.
His hope? To trade some of his bananas for a liter of rice. But not a single shopkeeper was willing. He feared that if he didn’t eat that day, he might get sick and be unable to sell again.
“ I often endure hunger because I have no money to buy food. If I ever do have a bit, I’d rather buy rice so my wife and I can eat at home,” said Grandpa Jabar with a trembling voice.
At home, he lives with his wife, Grandma Meisyem (55 years old), in a half-dilapidated wooden house with many holes in the walls.
Grandpa hopes to one day have enough capital to start a small business at home—his body is getting too weak, and his age too advanced, to keep walking long distances to sell. Let’s help this elderly couple in their time of need. Your support can bring real happiness and relief in their final years.
