In a remote village of East Manggarai, an 8-month-old baby named Esta Geovani was born with a rare condition: severe cleft lip and palate (labiopalatoschisis) and a smaller-than-normal head. Her tiny body is weak, her breathing is labored, and every day she lies helplessly—too fragile even to cry, let alone smile.

Since birth, weighing only 1 kg, Esta has endured a long battle in the NICU. But due to her family’s financial struggles, proper and regular medical treatment has been nearly impossible. A life-saving surgery has been scheduled in Bali, but the cost is far beyond what her parents can afford. Her father earns only $3 a day as a laborer.

Her mother, Yustina, spends her days pounding rice by hand while whispering prayers for Esta’s survival. They’ve already taken out multiple loans just to buy medicine and travel to the hospital—but they’re now out of options and deeply in debt.

Without surgery, Esta may never grow up. All her mother dreams of is to see Esta smile, to cradle her in church and whisper a prayer of gratitude. But for that to happen, they need a miracle—and support from kind-hearted people.
