14-Year-Old Zahra Sells Coffee Under the Sun While Battling Nose Cancer
Fundraiser
Yayasan Respek Peduli Indonesia is a non government organization who help people in need

For the past three years, a tumor has been growing in 14-year-old Zahra’s nose, making it difficult for her to breathe. As she battles her illness, a terrible tragedy struck her family — her beloved father passed away from heart disease. Her heart shattered. Why did he have to go while she’s still fighting for her life?

Three years ago, Zahra was playing at school when suddenly, a massive nosebleed occurred. She was rushed to the hospital, where scans revealed a mass of flesh in her nasal cavity. Her condition worsened, and soon she could no longer breathe through her nose as the tumor grew and spread to her brain.

Despite her father’s absence, Zahra is not alone in this fight. Her mother is an extraordinary woman who’s always by her side. Though her heart aches seeing Zahra suffer, she is determined to get her daughter through it. She works tirelessly to cover Zahra’s expensive medical bills.

Though Zahra had to drop out of school and endure constant pain, she hasn’t given up. She helps her mother sell coffee in front of schools whenever she has the energy. Sometimes she feels down, seeing her friends leave school while she cannot join them, but she keeps her spirit high and holds on to her dream of recovery.

Her treatment is costly, and many procedures and medications are not covered by the insurance. The pain in her nose and head is often unbearable, sometimes leaving Zahra unable to even get out of bed. But her hope — to heal, return to school, and make her late father proud — keeps her going every single day.

“Dad, I want to get better and make you proud in heaven, and make Mom proud too.”

#KindSouls, Zahra’s journey to recovery is still long and difficult. Would you help ease her pain?
