Muhammad Syakir Iman was born a healthy baby, just like any other child. But everything changed when he suffered a high fever at just six months old.

Years passed without any alarming signs — until Syakir reached Year 3 in school. That’s when he began falling frequently without any clear reason. At first, his family thought it was normal for a growing child.

But over time, the situation worsened. Syakir lost strength in his legs and began struggling to move. His mobility became more and more limited.

After undergoing several medical tests, doctors finally diagnosed Syakir with a rare neurological disorder. Heartbreakingly, there is no cure or treatment to reverse the disease.

Now 14 years old, Syakir has grown increasingly weak. He can no longer walk, move his body freely, or care for himself. Every small movement is a challenge.

Since his condition began, his 60-year-old grandmother has become his primary caregiver. With no stable income, life has grown extremely difficult. On top of caring for Syakir, she also has to look after his younger sibling. The burden is overwhelming — especially now that Syakir requires special equipment just to live with some comfort.

Worse still, Syakir’s parents have vanished without a trace. He and his sibling are now fully under the care of their elderly grandmother.

Syakir urgently needs a wheelchair to move, a special mattress to prevent bedsores, and a portable toilet to maintain hygiene. But the cost of this equipment is far beyond what his grandmother can afford.

In addition, Syakir must attend regular hospital checkups — but the transportation and medical expenses are another heavy burden for the family. With almost nothing to fall back on, they now rely entirely on the kindness of the public for support.

Kind souls, will you help ease Syakir’s pain and lift the burden off his grandmother’s shoulders with your donation?
