With rice prices soaring, 88-year-old Grandpa Sahid is struggling to survive. Every day, he walks from village to village selling traditional snacks, hoping to earn just enough to buy a little rice. But traditional snacks are no longer popular among children, replaced by modern snacks, making it even harder for him to sell.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Grandpa Sahid carries his heavy load—nearly 30kg—under the scorching sun, walking up to 10KM daily despite his old age and frail body. From morning until evening, he roams the streets. At night, he prepares the batter again for tomorrow’s sales.
On a good day, he earns around $3, but that’s only if everything sells. Most of it goes into buying ingredients for the next batch, leaving him with barely anything to eat. Often, he can only afford plain rice with salt. His ‘home’ is barely livable—a small shack that simply gives him a place to rest his tired body.
During rainy seasons, things get even worse. No buyers. No income. And he returns home empty-handed.
Grandpa Sahid is just one of many elderly people still fighting to survive in their twilight years. Will you be the reason Grandpa Sahid—and others like him—can smile today?
