Help Struggling Elderly Workers Survive
Fundraiser
Asih Bumi Insani is a non government organization who help people in need.

Age may wither the body, but love and responsibility never fade. In the corners of the city, three elderly men continue to fight exhaustion and hardship for one reason — to make sure their loved ones survive.

Grandpa Endang (76) works as a street clown. Every day, he walks kilometers wearing a 2kg costume. Behind the smiling mask hides a trembling body — hungry and weak. He’s been hit by strangers while performing, and sometimes collapses by the roadside from exhaustion. Yet going home empty-handed hurts far more.
“If not me, then who else?” he once whispered, staring at the photo of his two grandchildren who now depend solely on him. Despite his pain and hunger, he keeps working — all for a meal to feed them.

Grandpa Sukma, the cracker seller with a face covered in large lumps. Born with a deformity, he can only see out of one blurry eye. Every day he pushes his cart, hoping to sell a few crackers for just 20 cents each — earning barely a few dollars after hours of walking. Children laugh at his face. He once fell into a ditch because his vision failed him. Still, he smiles and says softly, “As long as I can eat with my mother and siblings, that’s enough.”

Grandpa Isep (75) has lived with disabilities since childhood. He can’t speak clearly and struggles to walk, but every morning, he goes out carrying a small thermos filled with brewed coffee — selling cup by cup under the scorching sun or pouring rain. When his family asked him to stop working due to illness, he replied simply, “If I stop, who will keep the kitchen running?”

Three men. Three stories. One message: as long as they can stand, they will keep fighting. Now, they are tired — and they need us. Help them eat properly, live safely, and age with dignity. These are just a few among many elderly heroes still struggling on the streets every day. Will you stand with them?
