From the moment she was born, Aiyla has been in a fight no child should ever face. She came into the world with hydrocephalus, a condition that causes fluid to fill her head, and she was also born without a skull. Her delicate head is completely unprotected, and every day is a struggle to keep her alive.

Since her first breath, hospitals have become her second home. She has endured surgeries, treatments, and endless pain that no little one should ever know. Her mother, Paijem, stays by her side through it all, holding her close whenever she cries, whispering prayers through her tears, and clinging to hope that her baby will survive.
