No one knows how many times baby Aira has been declared critical and almost didn’t make it. At just 15 months old, she’s already facing the painful reality of being born with a chromosome 15 disorder.
Doctors said it’s a lifelong condition — Aira will need ongoing treatments and hormone injections just to survive. Machines, injections, and medical aids have become part of her life. But her father is only a daily wage laborer… how could he ever afford it?
From the moment she was born, Aira has never truly known comfort. Right after birth, she was in critical condition and nearly stopped breathing. She’s spent most of her short life surrounded by ICU equipment, tubes, and medical machines keeping her alive.
“Aira can survive and grow well only if she continues hormone injections for life. But each shot costs around SGD 1,400… something we can never afford even after working tirelessly,” said Aira’s father.
Her chromosome disorder caused multiple birth defects, making her organs weak and her body frail. She suffers from uncontrollable hunger that puts her at risk of severe obesity, and her cognitive abilities are also affected. Without continuous treatment and care, Aira’s life is in constant danger.
The family needs hundreds of thousands of dollars for her medical expenses — an impossible sum for a poor laborer. Her father works multiple jobs, barely earning enough to feed the family, let alone pay for Aira’s treatments.
No one knows how long Aira can survive without her hormone injections. But despite everything, this little girl still clings to life with all her heart — hoping for a miracle from God.
Dear brothers and sisters, let’s come together to help baby Aira continue her treatment and give her the chance to live.
