Since birth, Mardhiyah has faced challenges too heavy for her tiny body. She was born with only one kidney, and now that kidney functions at just 18 percent. Doctors have confirmed that she has Stage 4 kidney disease, and if it progresses to Stage 5, she will need dialysis.

Mardhiyah’s birth was meant to be a day of joy for her parents. But that happiness turned into tears when doctors revealed she was born without a vaginal and anal opening.

Just a day after her birth, Mardhiyah’s abdomen had to be surgically opened to install a stoma bag. From that moment, her life has been filled with treatments and pain.

Now, in addition to her worsening kidney condition, Mardhiyah requires regular follow-ups and daily medications, all of which come with high costs.

Her father works as an excavator operator earning around RM3,000 per month, while her mother is a full-time caregiver. With the mounting medical expenses, the family struggles to provide for her needs.
