After waiting more than two years to welcome a child, our joy came with the birth of our daughter, Syarifah Adeena Ufayrah, on January 8, 2020.

But our happiness was met with a major challenge. Syarifah was born extremely premature, weighing less than 500g, and her tiny body faced serious complications. Her organs were not fully developed, causing severe breathing problems, repeated infections, and difficulty growing healthily. From birth, she has relied on breathing support machines and intensive hospital care to survive.

Syarifah’s condition requires constant monitoring and specialized treatment, which is very costly. We travel to three hospitals in Penang every month for her follow-ups. So far, the expenses for her treatment, medication, and special care have reached tens of thousands of dollars, which is a heavy burden for us as parents.

Every day is a fight for Syarifah. Her oxygen levels fluctuate, and we must stay alert, fearing that she may suddenly struggle to breathe. Even though she is now able to stay at home, she still requires full-time care, including oxygen equipment and special formula to help her grow strong and healthy.
