Siti Hajar binti Md Jusoh, 44, was once a hardworking mother and wife, helping her husband with rubber tapping and caring for their family. But over the years, diabetes took a devastating toll on her life. It started in 2010 with small black spots on her fingers, and despite early treatment, the disease worsened. By 2020, her condition became critical—infected wounds forced doctors to amputate two toes, and eventually, both legs up to the knees to save her life.
Today, Siti Hajar is bedridden and partially blind from diabetic complications. She cannot walk, struggles with daily activities, and experiences severe pain, frequent fevers, and difficulty eating. Her husband, an OKU who earns less than RM100 a month from rubber tapping, cannot fully care for her, and their family depends solely on limited JKM assistance. Despite the immense challenges, Siti Hajar remains resilient, helping with small tasks like cooking while seated, cleaning, and supporting her family in any way she can.
Siti Hajar urgently needs medical attention, including eye surgery to remove blood clots behind her cornea, ongoing check-ups, and support for her daily care. The cost of treatment and essential medical supplies is overwhelming: medical check-ups (RM50 x 6 visits), a hospital bed (RM1,800), an electric wheelchair (RM6,500), nutritional milk (RM140 x 6 tins per month), diapers, medical cleaning supplies, and other daily necessities.
#KindSouls, your support can help Siti Hajar regain some independence, manage her pain, and access the medical care she desperately needs. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a life-changing difference for her and her family.
