What was supposed to be a moment of joy turned into heartbreak for baby Khalid’s parents. Moments after his birth, Khalid did not cry. His body turned stiff and blue as he struggled to breathe. Since then, his tiny body has been fighting for life.

His life now depends on continuous medical support and surgeries.
Khalid’s father, Adi, works tirelessly. Collecting scrap metal by day and selling bananas and herbal drinks at night. But his income is barely enough to feed the family, let alone pay the thousands of dollars in hospital bills. The long distance to the hospital also adds to their mounting expenses.
Despite their struggles, Adi and his wife Yunita refuse to give up. They pray day and night, holding onto hope that one day, Khalid will recover and smile like other children.
