Born with Hydrocephalus, Baby Rafka’s Head is Swelling and Rotting
Fundraiser
Anti Safitri is Baby Rafka's mother

Rafka was born after years of prayers and longing from his parents, Bayu and Anti. But their joy quickly turned into heartbreak when doctors discovered that their baby boy was suffering from hydrocephalus — a dangerous buildup of fluid in the brain.

His head has continued to grow abnormally large, far beyond the size of his tiny body. The swelling has now caused infections, with parts of his head leaking pus and at risk of bursting. A condition that could cost him his life if he doesn’t undergo urgent surgery.

Rafka has already gone through procedures like VP Shunt surgery to drain the fluid, but due to financial struggles, his treatments had to be stopped. Every day, his parents watch him grow weaker and cry in pain. His head is often bruised and wounded from being unable to move except lying down.

Doctors say that Rafka needs multiple surgeries, routine check-ups, and long-term intensive care. But Bayu, who works as a construction laborer, barely earns enough to cover their daily meals, let alone the enormous cost of hospital bills and long travel to the city hospital.

Despite their hardship, his parents refuse to give up. To them, Rafka is not a burden but he is a blessing. All they want is to see him live, breathe, and grow like other children.

“We don’t want to keep crying. Rafka is a gift from God, and we want to fight for him. But we cannot afford the treatment on our own…” — Bayu, Rafka’s father

Now, Rafka’s only hope lies in the kindness of others. With your support, he can receive the life-saving surgeries and care he desperately needs.  #KindSouls, will you stand with baby Rafka and give him a chance at life?
