For 62 years, Grandfather Mukien has never relied on others, even though he is blind. Despite his lack of sight, he has continued to find ways to make a living. In his later years, he still works hard, selling ice and snacks on the streets using his old bicycle.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Fortunately, Grandfather Mukien has a relative who lets him stay with them. But his daily life still depends on the small profits he earns from selling, which is far from enough to meet his needs. On some days, he sells very little, and sadly, he is often cheated by dishonest buyers.
“When I go around selling, I can earn a little more. So, I just thank God for what I have, because it’s better than going hungry,” says Grandfather Mukien with a humble heart.
But his bicycle, which is now old and fragile, no longer feels safe to use. He’s afraid of falling or accidentally crashing into other vehicles, especially as his sight continues to fade with each passing day.
At his age, Grandfather Mukien dreams of being able to continue his work in a safer way, with proper equipment that would protect him from harm.
He no longer wants to risk his life just to make a living, especially when his blindness makes it difficult to navigate the streets on his old bike. Let’s come together to help Grandfather Mukien fulfill his dream of working safely.
