81-Year-Old Grandma Miyem Walks 20 KM Daily to Sell Fruits That Often Rot
Fundraiser
Yayasan Bina Mulia DIY is a non government organization who help people in need.

Her face looks exhausted, her eyes dim—carrying countless untold stories.
Mbah Miyem is an 81-year-old grandmother who continues to shoulder the weight of life alone. Since her husband passed away, she has had no one left to depend on.

At an age when she should be resting, Mbah is forced to work every single day just to afford a meal. She walks nearly 20 kilometers daily, carrying vegetables and fruits to sell at the market—no vehicle, no assistance.

Only her aging legs, growing weaker with time.

When hunger strikes, Mbah sometimes has no choice but to eat her own goods—only if they are still fit to be eaten. After the market closes, she doesn’t go home to rest. Instead, she continues walking around, hoping to sell what little she has left.

All of this effort, just to earn 3,000 to 5,000 rupiah. Such a small amount—but to Mbah, it means everything.

Day by day, her body grows weaker. When her fruits begin to wither, Mbah can only bow her head in quiet resignation.

Donations collected will not only be used to support Mbah Miyem. With her consent, the funds will also be distributed by Bina Mulia to help other elderly individuals facing similar hardships.

If you’re able, please donate and help ease the burden of the elderly like Mbah Miyem.
