Saimah is 90 years old and lives completely alone. Since her husband passed away a year ago, she has been surviving on her own, relying on collecting and selling discarded items to afford food. Her frail body struggles with even short trips, but without help from neighbors or local support, she has no choice but to keep going.

She collects small amounts of recyclables over a 3 km route and sells them every two weeks, often earning only around $2 per sale. Many days, she has nothing to eat. Recently, she went two whole days without any food because she had no money and no assistance.

Saimah lives in a makeshift home by the riverside, made from scrap materials. The house cannot protect her from the rain, and floods often enter her home through leaks and overflowing water. Her children have moved away, but they are unable to help her financially. Even during festive occasions, when she prepared food hoping to see them, no one came and left her feeling lonely and forgotten.

Despite her old age and failing health, Saimah continues to survive on what little she can gather and the occasional food donations from local community centers. She does not expect luxuries, only a chance to live her remaining years with dignity and enough to eat.
