Grandpa Adul (66) is a street warrior in his old age. Despite a gaping wound on his face, he still walks for kilometers every day to sell newspapers—just to save up for treatment.

For the past 3 years, Grandpa has battled facial cancer. It started as a small wound, but due to lack of treatment, it grew worse—now severely damaging his face.

He can barely eat, drink, or speak. The pain radiates from his face into his mouth. All of his teeth are gone, and now he can only swallow food whole.

Grandpa once underwent chemotherapy, but had to stop because he couldn’t afford health insurance. Now, he can only rely on bandages to cover the wound. Still, it often bleeds, oozes pus, and emits a foul odor.

With no family left, Grandpa struggles alone. He pushes himself to keep working, walking the streets with his face in pain, just to sell a few papers.

But it’s not easy—many people are afraid to approach him despite the bandage. Selling five newspapers a day is already a blessing. Often, he goes home empty-handed.

He’s lost count of how many days he’s gone hungry. With nothing but water to ease his pain, Grandpa often sleeps on storefronts, security posts, or roadside spots when the pain becomes unbearable.

Every night, in his solitude, Grandpa prays for strength and the chance to live. He still hopes to receive treatment and return to a normal life.
