At 74 years old, he still struggles to make a living, walking from place to place selling handmade coconut fiber brooms. Every day, he pushes his old bicycle, carrying dozens of brooms, hoping someone will buy them.
Despite his weakened body and shortness of breath, Grandpa forces himself to keep going. He starts selling from 7 AM to 5 PM, walking miles under the scorching sun. When exhaustion sets in, he rests wherever he can—on sidewalks, in front of shops, or security posts. Sometimes, he is so tired he falls asleep where he sits.
Sadly, even after all that effort, his brooms barely sell. He often doesn’t make enough to buy food, let alone medicine for his wife. Desperate, he has even tried trading his brooms for a kilogram of rice, but most shop owners refused. Many days, he and his wife go hungry.
Even in his old age, Grandpa Arsad never gives up. Every step he takes is a fight for his wife’s survival.
