It is hard to imagine that someone could truly be abandoned in their old age, left helpless and unable to do anything.

Grandpa Sumarji, 69, has been neglected for over three months in a rented room he can no longer afford. His house and land were sold for his family, yet now he is left alone in a distressing condition.

He is extremely thin and weak, unable to stand and only able to lie down. When our Jalinan Kasih team arrived, his room was filled with trash and a strong odor, a result of months of neglect.

During care, when volunteers cleaned him and changed his diapers, they found significant blood stains, showing the severity of his health condition.

Grandpa Sumarji has now been evacuated to our foundation for proper care. However, many of his needs go beyond what we can provide on our own. He requires medical examinations and treatment, but he does not have health insurance and needs urgent attention.
