After more than two years of waiting, their dream of welcoming a child finally came true with the birth of Syarifah Adeena Ufayrah on 8 January 2020.

But their joy was met with a huge challenge: Syarifah was born prematurely, weighing less than 500g.

Since birth, she has faced numerous complications. Her internal organs were not fully developed, causing severe breathing difficulties, repeated infections, and challenges in growing healthy. She had to rely on a ventilator and intensive hospital care to survive.

Syarifah’s condition requires constant monitoring, with intensive treatments that come at a very high cost. They have been traveling to three hospitals in Penang every month for her follow-ups.

Medical expenses, special medications, and essential care for Syarifah have already reached tens of thousands of ringgit—an enormous burden for her parents.

Every day is a struggle for Syarifah. Her oxygen levels fluctuate constantly, and her parents remain vigilant, fearing any sudden difficulty in breathing. Even though she is now allowed to return home, her care still requires full attention and special equipment, like an oxygen machine and specialized formula, to ensure she grows strong and healthy.
