“Alif, please forgive me, son… we have to take the public minivan so you can finish your last chemotherapy session. Next month, I won’t be able to pay for our insurance anymore,” said Mr. Rahmat.
Alif had to be rushed to the hospital as his condition worsened. But with barely enough money, he and his father had no choice but to take a crowded public minivan. The 20KM journey felt endless—Alif’s face was pale, his body weak, and he cried in pain the entire way.
It all began when Alif’s stomach started to ache and swell. Soon, his body and mouth were covered in red spots that gradually turned dark and black. He endured that agony for five long months before doctors diagnosed him with Lymphoma Cancer.
To this day, Alif’s parents are fighting desperately to afford his surgery and at least 12 rounds of chemotherapy afterward. But where can they possibly find thousands of dollars in such a short time? The only valuable item they owned—a phone—has already been pawned.
Alif’s father works odd jobs in the village, barely earning enough for daily meals, let alone medical treatment. He can’t even afford the monthly health insurance payment anymore.
Yet Alif still has a long road of treatment ahead if he is to survive and stop the cancer from spreading further. #KindSouls, will you spare a little of your fortune to help Alif continue his fight for life?
