Help Single Mother Care for 12-Year-Old Daughter with Cerebral Palsy Seizing Every 5 Minutes

“Maybe this is just God’s path for me… to take care of Ani alone. Ever since she was born, her father left us and never came back…,” whispered Mrs. Asih.

Carrying Ani on her back, Mrs. Asih — whose body is now aging and hunched — tries to finish her work as a laundry and cleaning helper for her neighbors. Even though she is exhausted, she could never leave Ani alone at home.

Ani was diagnosed with cerebral palsy the moment she took her first breath. Her brain tissues were already damaged at birth. And at that same moment, her father walked away without leaving any message, abandoning the two of them. Yet Ani needed her father’s love more than anyone else to fight this chronic illness.

Heartbreakingly, even now — at 12 years old — Ani has never received any treatment. The doctor who delivered her said she urgently needed surgery and therapy so her brain damage wouldn’t worsen. But what could they do…

Because of her condition, Ani often experiences severe seizures. Mrs. Asih once tried counting — Ani had seizures every 5 minutes. Her body stiffened, her mouth foamed, and her eyes rolled back until only the whites were visible.

In the past, to survive, Mrs. Asih sold vegetables using a pushcart. Sadly, someone stole her cart and never returned it. That cart was her only working capital. How could someone be so cruel?

Now, she can only work as a cleaning helper for neighbors. With Ani’s health declining, she can’t leave her alone at home. So she has no choice but to carry Ani on her back while she works.

As time passes, Mrs. Asih’s own health is deteriorating. She suffers from chronic gastric issues and heart problems. Her body is weakening and could collapse at any time.

Yet she never thinks of herself. To her, what matters most is that Ani can eat and get her seizure medicine.

“My pay doesn’t even reach $5. It’s not enough, but I make do. As long as Ani can eat and I can buy her seizure medicine, that’s enough. It’s okay if I don’t eat… if I go hungry.”

#KindPeople, Ani’s condition worsens every day — and so does Mrs. Asih’s. Especially after the father abandoned them without a word. There is no one left to save them.

Will you help ease their burden and support Mrs. Asih so she can bring Ani for treatment?
