Hi Good people! I am Samarendra Sharma, a social worker from the Women Empowerment Mission, and I am reaching out to help Mr. Ashok Kumar Datt. I invite everyone to join us in supporting this campaign, easing the heavy burden of his medical expenses.

Ashok Datt, 55, has been battling Carcinoma Buccal Mucosa (Mouth Cancer) for over a year. He resides in Jankpurham Sub-metropolitan, Dhanusha District, Madhesh Province, Nepal. A revered journalist, Ashok has worked tirelessly for newspapers and community radio. Additionally, he is a renowned poet and literary figure in the Maithili language, which is widely spoken in Nepal and Bihar, India.

One day, Ashok began experiencing discomfort in his mouth while speaking and eating. He was misdiagnosed at the local hospital. After that, he decided to get a comprehensive checkup in Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital, which confirmed the presence of “Carcinoma Buccal Mucosa” on the right side of his mouth. He has since undergone one surgery and is on medication.

Ashok’s doctors have recommended radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and additional medications, accompanied by a regular intake of nutritious food. He must also make frequent visits to the hospital in Kathmandu. Furthermore, his doctors have advised that more surgeries will be necessary.

Coming from a lower-middle-class background, Ashok has already exhausted his life savings and family assets on his treatment. With his cancer now in its fourth stage, his situation has grown more urgent. Without the continuation of his therapies, treatment, and prescribed diet, Ashok’s life is in serious jeopardy.
