“If only my mom and dad were still here, I’d cry my heart out in their arms. Now, I only have my grandmother to care for me in the twilight of her life. God, if I still have time left in this world, I want to get better and be healthy again…” says Aulia.

After losing her father and being abandoned by her mother, who left with her new family, God had a different plan for Aulia (13). The joyful childhood she deserved has been stolen by a chronic illness—Stage 2 Kidney Failure.

Now, with no parents by her side, Aulia fights this disease with only her grandmother by her side. No one knows how much longer she can hold on. Day by day, her condition worsens. The smile and laughter that once lit up her face have now disappeared.

It’s undeniable that Aulia feels overwhelmed by the constant trials she faces. But her grandmother continues to give her strength to keep fighting for recovery.

No one expected that the stomach pain she endured for months was anything more than ordinary. But as time went on, she realized the pain felt different—it eventually led to seizures and shortness of breath. Doctors said that Aulia’s treatment must not be interrupted. She urgently needs dialysis at a major hospital in the city.

She requires 2–3 dialysis sessions every week. Without it, her kidney function could deteriorate further, waste products and excess fluids would continue to accumulate, causing her entire body to swell and her breathing to become increasingly labored.

Worse still, chronic kidney patients without consistent treatment are at high risk of hyperkalemia, heart disease, vascular disorders, anemia, and central nervous system damage.
