In a small house in Paya Dalam, Melaka, lives a family of six facing extraordinary trials. Four of the children—aged 16, 13, 12, and 4—were born with serious health challenges, including epilepsy, Down Syndrome, hypothyroidism, and chronic eczema. Their lives are filled with hardship, but their parents’ strength and love keep them going.
The seizures strike without warning, leaving the children’s small bodies trembling, stiff, and struggling to breathe. Adriana’s brain has shrunk completely, leaving her unable to speak or care for herself. Fatin, the youngest, has only half normal brain function and is also unable to talk. Alif suffers from severe eczema, often scratching until he bleeds, while Aiman and Fatin can only survive on special milk as they cannot chew solid food.
Caring for them requires 24-hour attention. Their sleep patterns are disrupted, their movements limited by weak muscles, and their daily needs overwhelming. Special milk, diapers, medicines, and constant hospital visits are part of their reality. Despite exhaustion, their parents never give up on giving them the best care they can.
Doctors have confirmed there is no cure. The children must continue lifelong treatments and therapies. Monthly, the family needs diapers, special milk, eczema soap, fever and flu medicine, and wheelchairs for Aiman and Fatin. Even transportation to the hospital is a struggle on the father’s modest income.
The financial burden is crushing, yet every smile from their children gives them strength to keep fighting. “Sometimes, we feel hopeless. But when we see their faces, we know they need us more than anything,” says the mother, with tears in her eyes.
This family does not ask for much—only support to ease their pain. Your kindness can help them meet urgent needs, bring comfort, and remind them they are not alone in their struggle.
