In a corner of their home, Grandpa Tjong Koen Sin (68 years old) and Grandma Kho Mei Nio (61 years old) spent their days in anguish. For years, Grandpa struggled, half paralyzed due to the inability to afford medical treatment. Yet, he was diagnosed with severe brain damage due to acute blockage. His brain nerves ceased functioning, facing the risk of lifelong paralysis without immediate intensive treatment. Sadly, Grandma Kho Mei Nio only works as a domestic helper with a meager wage.
Exactly two years ago, Grandpa Tjong Koen Sin suddenly lost movement in half of his body while awaiting a call for work as a mechanic. Unfortunately, being solely dependent on life with Grandma, they lacked sufficient funds for immediate medical check-ups. Home remedies became their only certain solution.
In their old age, Grandma tirelessly worked as a domestic helper to sustain life and urgently take Grandpa for check-ups. Yet again, they could only afford alternative treatments with their limited funds. Although initially showing signs of improvement, after a year, Grandpa collapsed again. This time, his entire body couldn’t even speak or move.
To prevent Grandpa’s condition from worsening, Grandma rushed to the nearest health center. Unfortunately, Grandpa was immediately referred to a major hospital as his condition was beyond manageable. Now, Grandma and Grandpa have to accept this bitter verdict.
Grandpa Tjong Koen Sin’s brain blood vessels are on the verge of rupturing due to acute blockage. The threat of brain damage and lifelong paralysis looms over Grandpa without regular treatment that costs $7.500 in which they can never afford.
Grandma never wavers in her faith in Lord Jesus. Grandma Kho Mei Nio believes that the loving God will bring healing for Grandpa. Efforts, prayers, and unwavering love are never forgotten to give by Grandma in her pursuit of her beloved husband’s recovery.
