“God, I just want to live and grow well… so I can repay my father, who’s fighting so hard to keep me alive.”

At just 16 years old, Harman has faced unimaginable hardship since he was 5. That was the year he lost his mother — and the year he was diagnosed with a severe lung infection that left a hole in his chest, emitting a foul smell that caused others to avoid and bully him.

His condition has worsened over the years. Harman now struggles to breathe, his body growing weaker by the day. Recently, tests revealed that one of his lungs has completely failed and must be removed immediately. The surgery is complex and urgent, if delayed, the infection could spread and threaten his life.

Harman’s father, a daily laborer and now a single parent, has done everything he can to support his son. But with an unstable income and a mountain of medical expenses not covered by BPJS (national health insurance), the family is overwhelmed.

Beyond the physical pain, Harman also carries deep emotional scars from years of isolation and shame. Despite all this, he continues to hope for a second chance at life, for healing, and for the day he can make his father proud.
