Nia Naqisha, 10 years old, was born healthy and cheerful. But at just five months old, doctors discovered she had a hole in her heart (VSD). She underwent heart surgery at nine months — and that was when her life changed forever.
A severe complication after the surgery caused a major brain hemorrhage. Nia fell into a coma for three months, relying entirely on machines in the ICU. When she finally woke up, she could no longer see, hear, move, or eat normally. Her abilities were completely lost.
Doctors confirmed that the bleeding had damaged many parts of her brain. Since then, Nia’s mother has been fighting tirelessly — taking her from one therapy to another, hoping to help her regain even the smallest functions.
There is progress, but recovery is still far away. Nia still cannot stand or walk, and all her food has to be blended. She needs ongoing therapy, medical care, and constant support to continue improving.
Let’s help give Nia a second chance. With your support, this little fighter can keep moving forward.
