Muhammad Saifudin… my son who was once cheerful, active, and full of dreams. Since he was little, he aspired to become a soldier. But everything changed in an instant when he was 12 years old.

That day, an accident happened — Saifudin fell and fractured the bone around his eye. At first, we thought it was just a normal injury. But after two months, his eye began to swell and slowly drooped downward. Since the age of 13, his eye has remained that way… no longer like before.

This physical change left a wound far deeper than the pain itself. Friends began mocking him, some even calling him cruel names. The bullying slowly destroyed his spirit. Saifudin became depressed, lost his confidence, and eventually dropped out of school in Form 3 because he could no longer bear the pressure. Along with that, his dream of becoming a soldier vanished forever.

Now, Saifudin helps me sell vegetables at the market. But our life is very limited. Our income is just enough to eat for the day — tomorrow is uncertain. Hand-to-mouth living. Saifudin has tried applying for other jobs, but he’s always rejected. Some because he has no SPM, others because of his eye condition.

The doctors have told us there is a chance to correct his eye through surgery. But the cost is far beyond what we can afford. Tests like medical check-ups, X-rays, and CT scans have been done, but without funding, the surgery remains a distant hope.

As a father, my heart breaks every time I see my son lower his head when people stare, or pretend to be strong when people ask. He never asks for more — he just wants to live without shame or self-doubt.
