At just 1 year old, Yusuf was diagnosed with leukemia.
Now only 1 year and 6 months old, this fragile little boy is enduring pain no child should ever feel. He can’t speak yet—but his cries, his tears, and the way he clutches his tiny chest say it all: it hurts.
His growth has slowed. His body is weakening. Some of his nerves have become paralyzed. Breathing is a struggle, and often, he gasps while pounding his chest—begging for relief the only way he knows how.
After one chemotherapy session, as they waited at the bus terminal for the long ride home, Yusuf began vomiting and bleeding from his nose. He collapsed, nearly unconscious in his mother’s arms.
Mrs. Ade, his mother, broke down in tears. Surrounded by strangers, she could only think of one thing:
“What if my son doesn’t make it? What if we can’t afford his next treatment?”
They’ve sold everything they own just to keep fighting. Every week, Mrs. Ade takes Yusuf on a 120 km journey to the hospital for chemo. But their money is running out. She worries about affording the next round of medicine, the next bus fare, the next meal.
Yusuf’s fight is far from over. His mother is doing everything she can—but she can’t do it alone anymore. Please, #KindSouls, help Yusuf continue his treatment. Even the smallest donation could be the hope they’re praying for.
