The heartbreaking cries of 3-year-old Zayd bring tears to anyone who hears them.

At first, Zayd only complained of pain while urinating. The local doctor suspected a narrowing of his urinary tract and recommended circumcision.

But after the procedure, Zayd’s condition worsened. His body temperature would spike up to 42°C, triggering violent seizures.

Doctors eventually diagnosed him with a rare and serious condition: HN bilateral EC VUR bladder—a disease involving swelling in both kidneys, urinary reflux, and bladder dysfunction.

This illness is extremely dangerous if not treated promptly. Zayd must be referred to a hospital in Jakarta for further treatment before his condition worsens and threatens his life.

Zayd now lives with his father and grandmother. His parents are separated, and his loving grandma has stepped in as a mother figure—caring for him and soothing his cries through every wave of pain.

“Zayd has to recover. I’ll take him to Jakarta, and his grandma will always be there for him. I’ll do whatever it takes,” says his father, tears filling his eyes.

But their fight is hindered by the lack of money. Zayd’s father sells coffee on the street. His income is barely enough for daily needs—let alone the expensive treatment in Jakarta. To afford it, he would have to sell thousands of cups of coffee.

Every day, his father gazes at Zayd’s photo in tears, heartbroken that someone so young has to bear such unbearable pain.
