“My son was so excited to start preschool this year. But then tragedy struck—Asraf’s leg became severely swollen,” said Mr. Misgianto, Asraf’s father.

Asraf cries every single day. The pain he’s enduring is unbearable, and it’s breaking his father’s heart.

At first, Asraf had a high fever. But instead of getting better, the fever lingered. Soon, his leg could no longer straighten, and swelling began to appear.

The doctor diagnosed Asraf with a severe joint infection. The condition is now critical and requires immediate, intensive treatment.

Asraf needs to be transferred to the city for further medical care, as the infection has progressed dangerously. Before it spreads any further, he must undergo surgery as soon as possible.

“I truly want to see my son healthy again. But if we have to go to Jakarta… I have no family or relatives there. Living costs are high—renting a place, buying Asraf’s needs… I don’t have any money left. Everything I had was spent on his treatments,” said Mr. Misgianto.

Mr. Misgianto works as a construction laborer. His daily wage—less than $5—is far from enough to cover Asraf’s treatment, let alone the cost of living in Jakarta.

But no matter how hard the job, he’s willing to do anything as long as it helps his son get the surgery he needs.
