At just 16 years old, Dufan is battling a serious kidney disease. The moment his mother found out, she walked out on him. All he wanted was for her to stay and care for him until he recovered.

Left behind and heartbroken, Dufan now depends solely on his father, Mr. Kuseran, who used to work as a truck driver. He gave up his job to take care of his son full-time. In desperation, he sold almost everything they had just to afford treatment.

From their rural village, Mr. Kuseran brought Dufan to a hospital in the city. But without money for accommodation, they were forced to sleep on the sidewalk outside the hospital building.

“I was devastated when my wife left. I had to quit my job because my son needed me. I sold everything for his treatment,” Mr. Kuseran shared.

Dufan’s condition continues to decline. His legs and eyes are swollen, and he must undergo dialysis every two weeks. Although he receives basic medical coverage through government insurance, it doesn’t cover essential costs like transportation, special medications, and a safe place to stay during treatment.

To survive, Mr. Kuseran now works as a parking attendant at a local store—barely earning enough to buy food each day.
