Meet Ichan, a 7-year-old boy who has been battling severe hearing loss and hypospadias since birth. Born prematurely and faced with frequent illnesses, Ichan’s journey has been filled with challenges. By the age of two, it became clear that he could not hear, and after extensive testing, doctors confirmed that Ichan had profound hearing loss in both ears. Despite their financial struggles, his parents, Agung and Ayu, did everything they could to support him, borrowing money to buy hearing aids and starting speech and occupational therapy. Yet, as his condition didn’t improve, they were advised that cochlear implants might be the solution, offering him the chance to hear and communicate more effectively.
